Toyota ProAce camper conversion

The ProAce comes in 3 variants in the planner, with cargo areas from 2.16 m to 2.86 m long inside and payloads up to about 1,356 kg. Drivetrains: FWD.

No — you cannot stand up in a Toyota ProAce: even the tallest version has 1.40 m floor-to-headliner, about 1.33 m after a typical 7 cm floor and ceiling build-up, so adults sit, crouch or pop the top.

The ProAce shares its body with the Peugeot Expert — same dimensions, same apertures, same conversion decisions. Everything on this page applies to the whole family. Peugeot Expert →

What fits

  • Standing: the tallest variant has 1.40 m inside; after a ~7 cm floor and ceiling build-up you sit, crouch or pop the top — this is not a stand-up van.
  • Bed across: the widest variant measures 1.63 m between the walls — short of a 1.86 m mattress, so plan the bed lengthwise or add wheel-box flares.
  • Parking: at 1.90 m tall outside, the lowest variant clears a standard 2.0 m garage barrier.

Payload budget

Depending on variant, the ProAce carries roughly 1,270 kg to 1,356 kg of conversion, gear, water and people before hitting the gross weight limit. A typical full build lands between 400 and 700 kg before you pack — weigh the plan before you cut.

Toyota ProAce camper layouts and floor plans

The gallery has no layout on the Toyota ProAce yet. Its floor plans are drawn on other vans; the planner starts a ProAce with its real interior dimensions and you draw your own layout.

Frequently asked

How long is the ProAce inside?

The cargo area runs from 2.16 m in the shortest variant to 2.86 m in the longest, measured from the bulkhead to the rear doors.

Can I stand up in a Toyota ProAce?

No — you cannot stand up in a Toyota ProAce: even the tallest version has 1.40 m floor-to-headliner, about 1.33 m after a typical 7 cm floor and ceiling build-up, so adults sit, crouch or pop the top. Rule of thumb: you need a raw interior height of your own height plus 10 cm.

How much payload does a ProAce have for a conversion?

Roughly 1,270 kg to 1,356 kg depending on variant and engine — gross weight minus kerb weight. The build, water, gear and passengers all come out of that number.

Are there ready-made Toyota ProAce camper layouts or floor plans?

Not in the gallery yet. The planner has every ProAce variant with its real interior, so you can draw the floor plan in an empty van or start from a template.

Which vans are the same as the ProAce?

The ProAce shares its body and dimensions with: Peugeot Expert, Fiat Scudo, Citroën Dispatch, Citroën Jumpy, Opel Vivaro (2019+).

Figures derived from manufacturer specifications; interior dimensions calibrated against published cargo volumes. Always verify against your actual vehicle — model years differ.

Who makes this

I'm Vladimir. I'm planning my own conversion, and none of the tools I tried could tell me whether a layout would fit or what it would do to the rear axle, so I made this one. I work on it alone. If something's wrong or missing, write to me — the address goes to my inbox.
