The 3D camper conversion planner

Build your van twice.

Once here, where mistakes cost nothing. Then in plywood and steel, where they don’t.

Scroll — the van builds itself
Start with your exact van

27 vehicles. 159 variants. Real doors.

Every length, height and drive from manufacturer specs — sliding door, rear doors, wheel arches and wall taper included. Watch the doors: they swing like yours do.

Step inside

The walls get out of your way.

Orbit anywhere — the editor tucks the near walls away so your view into the build stays clear. Now, the empty shell. Let’s furnish it.

Will it fit?

The bed either fits, or it doesn’t.

A real bed build — frame, rails, mattress — with the garage packed underneath: water, gas, power, even the bike. Drop it in and know in seconds, not after the fourth cut.

Will it drive safe? What will it cost?

Every kilo. Every euro. Every watt.

Payload, axle split and centre of mass react to every item you place. The budget prices itself, and battery + solar are sized against what you actually run.

The finished plan

From empty shell to build sheet.

Doors open on a build that’s ready for the saw: cut list down to the stud, priced materials, a power plan.

Three questions every build stands or falls on

01
Will it fit?

See it in 3D before it exists

True interior dimensions for 27 vehicles — wheel arches, wall taper and all. Furniture snaps to walls, stacks like the real build, and design checks flag what a floor plan on paper never shows.

02
Will it drive safe?

Weight, balance and axles — live

An overloaded van fails inspection and can void insurance. Watch the payload bar, front/rear axle split and centre-of-mass marker react to every item you place.

03
What will it cost?

A budget that builds itself

Every item carries a cost. Materials are priced from your framing, boards and appliances, and running costs show what the extra weight does to fuel.

The only output you can take to the saw

Most layout tools stop at a pretty picture. VanPlot exports a Build Sheet: your cut list with framing exploded into stud-by-stud cuts, a priced materials list and your power plan — the difference between a drawing and a build you can start on Saturday.

  • Cut list with stud explosion
  • Priced materials & appliance list
  • Power sizing: battery, solar, autonomy
  • PNG export of your layout

Why this exists

I got tired of office work and started planning a van. Planning it meant graph paper, a spreadsheet and a CAD tool that treats a van like a house — and none of them could tell me the three things I actually needed to know: whether it fits, what it weighs on each axle, and what it costs.

So I made this. It answers those three, runs in the browser, and costs less than the sheet of plywood it will save you. If it doesn't, you get your money back and keep the exports.

My own conversion isn't built yet — I'm planning it in here, same as you. I work on VanPlot alone, so sales pay for the time I get to spend on it. support@vanplot.com goes to my inbox.
