A pack a carpenter can cut from

New
  • Cabinet sheets: every cupboard, kitchen and bed drawn piece by piece with finished sizes, visible edges, cutouts and grain (Build Sheet › Exports).
  • Sheet layout tells you how many sheets to buy, with a cutting diagram per sheet and the offcuts worth keeping.
  • Build your pack: pick who it is for, tick the sections, preview every page, then download one PDF.
  • Shop files for a CNC shop or cut-to-size counter: a DXF per piece and per sheet, cut-optimiser files, and a sticker label for every piece.
  • 36 new things to place, from what real vans carry: lights, Starlink, a rock-and-roll bed, a rear bench, a dog crate, an outdoor shower and a roof rack your solar panels can sit on.
  • One cabinet on its own: press Cabinet sheet (PDF) in the Inspector and hand the page to a joiner.
Improved
  • On the trial you now see the whole pack in the preview before you decide to buy.

One set of handles, and a guided start

New
  • Select anything and the handles are there: arrows move it, arcs turn it, squares resize it. No tool to pick first, and on a phone they replace the old corner handles.
  • Tilt an item — pitch and roll — for a leaned board, a solar panel on a tilt bracket or a bike on its side. Walls, stacking and the cut list still use its upright box.
  • Your first visit asks what you want: a guided first task in your own van (about 90 seconds), a tour of the panels, or skip. Nothing dims, and the card drags out of the way.
  • A ? menu in the toolbar with three short tutorials — day & night scenes, routing water, printing the Build Pack — offered once as a corner card when your build is ready for them.
  • Explain the interface (? menu, or E): every control gets a dashed outline; hover to read what it does, click to open its docs page.
Improved
  • Resizing keeps the opposite side in place, so a cupboard grows into the aisle, not into the wall. A label under the item shows its size, or the live number while you drag.
  • Your first project starts on the Modular wet-room layout instead of an empty van, and the end-of-trial sheet shows the van and item count you have saved.

Timber at shop sizes, drawer slides for anything

New
  • Raw stock at the sizes shops sell — plywood sheets, battens, boards and aluminium profiles — with standard DIY-store sizes as one-click chips (Build Materials).
  • Put anything on a drawer slide: a fridge on the rear doors, a kitchen pod, a battery box. Press O and it glides out (Inspector › Placement).
  • Pop-top roofs, hinged or straight-lift, with real kits as presets. Press O and the lid rises; solar and a fan sit on it.
  • Build health as one list: design checks and readiness prompts sorted into Fix, Decide and Check, with a placeable safety kit — CO alarm, smoke alarm, extinguisher, fire blanket — so the prompts can be answered, not only silenced.
  • 12 V distribution parts — chargers, shunt, fuse box, bus bar, switches, sockets — plus a shower tray, surfboard, skis, snowboard and spare wheel (115 in all). The Sprinter 5 t twin-wheel AWD joins the vans.
Improved
  • Focus mode (I) ghosts out everything but your selection so you can place one item in peace. A field-of-view slider and a Home button join Settings › Camera.
  • The Build Sheet counts a whole sheet or batten as one unit, no waste factor, and lists each slide pair with the load rating it needs.

Build on your phone

New
  • The editor opens on a phone: same project, same catalog, laid out for a thumb with five tabs — Add, Build, Edit, View and More.
  • Touch that behaves: tap to select, drag to move, drag elsewhere to swing the camera. Finger-sized handles resize and turn.
  • 3D / Top and the door switch sit over the canvas. Turn the phone sideways and the tabs become a rail down the edge.
Improved
  • Dialogs go full-screen on a phone, every button is at least 44 px, and iOS no longer zooms in when you tap a field.
  • Phones render a lighter scene, so the van moves smoothly instead of heating up in your hand.
  • The axle reading says what it is — the weight your build puts on each axle, not a plate rating — and an empty build shows "—".
Fixed
  • Crashes on some phones, adding a component doing nothing on older iOS Safari, projects occasionally opening as "not found", and the front page hanging on "Loading the van…".

A sidebar that fits what you selected

New
  • Select several items and edit them together — size, rotation, cost, weight, power, colour. A field reads "Mixed" when they differ; one edit applies to all.
  • Rename, duplicate, turn or hide an item straight from the sidebar.
  • See-through floor (Shift+X) keeps everything under the van visible and clickable. Camp gear stacks outside — the stove on the camp table.
Improved
  • Each item leads with the number that defines it: a tank's capacity, a battery's amp-hours, a solar panel's output. Change it and the totals follow.
  • Fields you don't need are hidden — a bed slat no longer asks for daily power. "All fields" brings everything back.
  • Number fields accept a comma, always show a decimal point and step with the arrow keys. Sizes read Length / Height / Depth.
  • The free calculators on the site switch between metric and imperial and start in your region's units.

Your van by your market's numbers

From customer feedbackA US builder planning a Transit wrote that the base van was a little off from the manufacturer's sheet, and asked for adjustable doors, measurements that stay, and a way to put gear outside and underneath. This release is that note, item by item.

New
  • US vans on their makers' own sheets: Ford Transit (US) with Ford's roof heights and T-150 / T-250 / T-350 payloads, RAM ProMaster, Sprinter (US) and Metris. 29 vehicles, 197 variants.
  • Gear outside the van: bike rack, spare wheel, jerry cans and ladder on the rear doors, a roof box and light bar on top — with an overall-height readout and a clearance warning.
  • Under the floor: water tanks, the diesel heater, a gas tank, a storage box or your own part hang between the chassis rails, with ground clearance checked.
  • Measurements save with the project, snap to corners, edges, walls and the ground, and chain into a path with Shift-click. Undo covers them too.
Improved
  • Door openings come from the manufacturer, and you can type your own (Body › Door openings). One Placement control per item: its own mount, under the floor, or anywhere on the outer skin.
Fixed
  • ⌘R turning an item before reloading, confirm dialogs that couldn't be clicked, the sliding-door panel drifting from its opening, inches reading back differently than typed.
Heads-up
  • Every van was re-checked against its maker's documents, and existing projects follow the corrected figures the next time you open them. Ceilings drop about 10 cm on rear-wheel-drive Transit and Crafter and 14–15 cm on rear-wheel-drive Master / Movano; door openings and wheel arches move on most vans; Trafic payloads are lower. Check tall furniture and anything near the rear arches or the sliding door.

Imperial means imperial, everywhere

From customer feedbackA US builder wrote in that with imperial switched on, some readouts were still in metres and millimetres. Fixed the same day.

Improved
  • Type inches or pounds straight into any field; arrow keys nudge a round 1″.
  • New projects start in the units and currency of your region, and the editor remembers the units you used last.
Fixed
  • Every length, weight, volume and temperature now follows your units — inspector, library, build stats, calculators, roof planner, design checks, dashboard and the new-project wizard.
  • Prints and exports too: Build Sheet, Build Pack, weighbridge report, cut list and share cards. Heat loss reads in °F / BTU.

Dutch, Italian and Spanish

New
  • The site and the editor now speak seven languages: English, German, French, Serbian, Dutch, Italian and Spanish.
Improved
  • The editor header fits on one row — Snapshot moved into the History panel.
  • Accessibility pass (WCAG 2.1 AA) across the site and docs, and a faster first load.
Fixed
  • If your browser loses its 3D context, the editor tells you what to do instead of crashing.

Searchable docs, a page for every van variant

  • Docs search, an "On this page" outline, last-updated dates and a "Was this helpful?" vote on every article. Two new guides: Troubleshooting & FAQ, and Trial, license & your account.
  • Every one of the 159 variants has its own page with dimensions, payload and standing height.
  • An embeddable van-dimensions widget for blogs and forums.
Improved
  • Feedback can carry an opt-in "you may quote me" — nothing gets quoted without it.

Custom vans, shared-build comments, power sizer

New
  • Custom van: type your own van's numbers in the wizard, or fork any database van and edit it.
  • Comments on share links: anyone you send a build to can pin a note on an item or a spot in the van; you see them in a Comments panel.
  • Power sizer: a Wh/day audit sizes battery, solar, inverter, MPPT, B2B charger and shore power — in the editor and as a public calculator.
  • Roof view with auto-fill packs solar panels around your fans and hatches. Shell thickness per surface updates standing height live.
  • Public calculators for insulation quantity, heater size and build order; a purchase confirmation email; docs in German, French and Serbian.
Improved
  • Weight-distribution heat map on the floor; rotation snaps to 15° (hold Alt for a free angle); van search understands badge names like Jumper or Proace Max.
  • Design checks flag heavy items with nothing under them, and the gas check measures real 3D gaps to ignition sources.

Rear lounge template and multi-select

  • Two starter templates: Rear lounge (U-lounge over the arches) and Modular wet-room.
  • Cmd/Ctrl-click items in the 3D scene to multi-select; Delete removes the whole selection.
  • Cooker, door step box, splashback, shelf, curtain, chopping board and bottle — 88 components in all.

Build Sheet dossier, a truer van shell

  • Build Sheet redesigned as a dossier: hero gauges, van silhouette, grouped cut list with expand-all, numbered plan.
  • The shell is one continuous skin with real shoulder curves; furniture clamps to the actual interior profile.
  • Wheel arches are real openings with the tyre visible, per-platform tyre sizes and an editable arch box.
  • People viewing a shared build get the same camera switch as the editor.

Wizard, roof planner, diagrams and AR

  • New-project wizard walks you to your exact van in a few steps instead of scrolling 159 variants.

Walk your build, print the Build Pack

New
  • Walk mode (W): drop to eye height, walk with WASD, and watch a live headroom readout under lockers and the roof curve.
  • Build Pack: the whole build as one printed document, plus a weighbridge report with blanks for your plate values.
  • The van itself is selectable: the Body button opens a Van inspector for shell build-up, paint, panels and openings.
  • Draw-to-cut: drag a window, roof fan or hole straight onto the wall in 3D — fully undoable.

27 vehicles, 159 variants

  • Van database rebuilt from manufacturer specs: 15 platforms and their rebadges, from Ducato / Boxer / ProMaster to Sprinter, Transit, Crafter, Master, Trafic, Vito, Daily, Transporter, HiAce, Caddy and Berlingo.
  • Each variant carries exterior dimensions, wheelbase, kerb weight and interior space, with payload computed from gross weight. FWD / RWD / AWD kept where offered.

The planning core

  • Cost, weight and power planning: per-item costs and the Build Sheet; live payload bar, axle split and centre of mass; battery + solar against appliance draw with days of autonomy.
  • Cut list with framing exploded into stud-by-stud cuts, design checks, layout templates, undo/redo with version history.
