What fits

  • Standing: after a typical floor and ceiling build-up (~7 cm), the Ducato L3H3 leaves about 2.10 m of headroom.
  • Bed across: at 1.87 m between the walls, the Ducato L1H1 takes a standard 1.86 m mattress transversely — the layout that frees the most floor.
  • Parking: every variant is over 2.0 m tall outside — underground garages and most height barriers are out.

Payload budget

Depending on variant, the Ducato carries roughly 1,230 kg to 1,560 kg of conversion, gear, water and people before hitting the gross weight limit. A typical full build lands between 400 and 700 kg before you pack — weigh the plan before you cut.

Frequently asked

How long is the Ducato inside?

The cargo area runs from 2.67 m in the shortest variant to 4.07 m in the longest, measured from the bulkhead to the rear doors.

Can I stand up in a Fiat Ducato?

Yes — you can stand up in a Fiat Ducato from the H2 roof up: 1.93 m floor-to-headliner, about 1.86 m after a typical 7 cm floor and ceiling build-up, which stands an adult up to about 1.80 m. By roof height — H1: 1.66 m raw, ~1.59 m finished — sit-down only; H2: 1.93 m raw, ~1.86 m finished — stands a 1.80 m adult; H3: 2.17 m raw, ~2.10 m finished — stands a 2.05 m adult. Rule of thumb: you need a raw interior height of your own height plus 10 cm.

How much payload does a Ducato have for a conversion?

Roughly 1,230 kg to 1,560 kg depending on variant and engine — gross weight minus kerb weight. The build, water, gear and passengers all come out of that number.

Are there ready-made Fiat Ducato camper layouts or floor plans?

Yes — the VanPlot gallery has ready-made layouts on the Ducato body, each with a floor plan drawn to scale on the real interior. Open one in the planner and change it.

Which vans are the same as the Ducato?

The Ducato shares its body and dimensions with: Peugeot Boxer, Citroën Relay, RAM ProMaster, Toyota Proace Max, Opel Movano (2021+), Vauxhall Movano (2021+), Citroën Jumper.

Who makes this

I'm Vladimir. I'm planning my own conversion, and none of the tools I tried could tell me whether a layout would fit or what it would do to the rear axle, so I made this one. I work on it alone. If something's wrong or missing, write to me — the address goes to my inbox.
