The Vanometry alternative for European vans, with axle loads, paid once
Vanometry is a generous free 3D planner for US vans — Transit, Sprinter, ProMaster, Express and E-Series — with collision checks, a walk mode and a parts list; its Pro tier adds payload maths and exports for $39 a year. VanPlot covers 29 vehicles on both sides of the Atlantic, computes axle loads and centre of mass live, adds power, cost and a stud-level cut list, and costs $39 once.

The honest verdict
Vanometry is the most generous free planner in this market: a solo-built browser 3D editor for American vans that saves ten designs without an account, checks collisions, walks you through the layout at eye height and prints a parts list with real product links. Its founder is converting a box truck with it, and it shows — box trucks, trailers and school buses are first-class citizens.
VanPlot is the pick if your van is European, if you need the weight answered properly — axle split and centre of mass live, a tilt test, the EN 1646-2 reserve — or if you want the build output: battery and solar sizing, an itemised budget and a stud-by-stud cut list. It costs $39 once instead of $39 a year, and speaks seven languages.
Where Vanometry is ahead
Its free tier is bigger than mine — ten saved designs, share links and blueprint downloads with no account, where VanPlot's trial is 15 minutes of active time. It has 3D collision detection, which VanPlot does not enforce, and it plans box trucks, cargo trailers and skoolies, which VanPlot does not cover at all.
If your van is a Chevy Express or a 1990s E-Series, Vanometry has the shell and VanPlot does not.
Questions people actually ask
Is Vanometry free?
Yes — the full 3D editor, up to ten cloud designs, a parts list, share links and a blueprint download are free with no account (vanometry.com, checked 30 September 2026). Vanometry Pro is $39 for one year and adds cost tracking, payload maths, print-ready plan sets and CSV/Excel exports. VanPlot's trial is free for 15 minutes; the licence is $39 once.
Does Vanometry support European vans?
Its templates are US-market: Ford Transit, Mercedes Sprinter, Ram ProMaster, Chevy Express / GMC Savana and Ford E-Series, plus custom dimensions. VanPlot has 29 vehicles in 195 variants for both the EU and US markets, including Ducato, Crafter, Master, Transit Custom and their siblings.
Does Vanometry calculate axle loads?
Vanometry Pro does payload maths with warnings against the vehicle's limit; it lists no axle split or centre of mass (checked September 2026). VanPlot computes payload, front/rear axle loads and centre of mass live, with a tilt test and the EN 1646-2 reserve.

Who makes this
I'm Vladimir. I'm planning my own conversion, and none of the tools I tried could tell me whether a layout would fit or what it would do to the rear axle, so I made this one. I work on it alone. If something's wrong or missing, write to me — the address goes to my inbox.
