If you want one box and no wiring, the Bluetti Elite 200 V2 is the most power station for the money and the Elite 100 V2 the best 1 kWh unit; the EcoFlow DELTA 3 Plus is the one to buy if you expect to add batteries later; the Jackery Explorer 1000 v2 is the lightest; the VTOMAN FlashSpeed 1500 the cheapest per kWh; and the RIVER 3 the box for a cupboard. I have not cycled these units; the method box says what the score is. The honest question this guide keeps asking is whether you want a box at all: a power station costs about twice as much per kWh as the bare battery and weighs more, and for a weekender or a first build that is the right trade. Either way it is a box with a weight you can place in VanPlot before you order.

How these are rated — and what I did not do
I have not run these units side by side. This is a spec-sheet comparison: every number in the table is a manufacturer or retailer figure, linked per product and checked September 2026. Where makers publish energy figures under different conditions they are shown as reported and kept out of the score, because a number measured at 32 °C cannot be ranked against one measured at 25 °C. What can be ranked fairly is arithmetic on published dimensions, weight, capacity and price — the things that decide whether a unit fits your layout, what it costs you in payload, and what it costs per litre. That is what the score is.
Each metric is scaled 0–10 across this set (best = 10, worst = 0), then weighted:
- Energy per kg (Wh/kg) — 15 % (higher is better)
- Energy per litre (Wh/L) — 10 % (higher is better)
- Price per kWh (€/kWh) — 30 % (lower is better)
- AC continuous (W) — 10 % (higher is better)
- Max solar input (W) — 15 % (higher is better)
- Cycles to 80 % (claimed) — 10 % (higher is better)
- Warranty (years) — 10 % (higher is better)
- Energy per kg and per litre use the rated Wh and the outside box; a power station carries an inverter, charger and MPPT inside that a bare battery does not, which is why 80–100 Wh/kg here compares with 120–150 for the batteries in the battery guide.
- Price per kWh uses the price named per product — mostly geizhals 'from' prices, which are the lowest retailer on the day, not brand-store list prices.
- Cycles are the makers' claims to 80 % capacity; Jackery's 1000 v2 claim is to 70 % and is excluded. Warranty terms not surfaced for the DELTA 2 and RIVER 3 are excluded too.
- Max solar input is the built-in MPPT rating; the DJI Power 1000 V2 has none without an accessory and is excluded from that metric. UPS times, noise and USB-C wattages are shown as reported.
- Manufacturer pages could not be opened from this build environment this run; figures come from the makers' published spec pages, manuals and listings as indexed, cross-checked between retailers, with every disagreement shown in the product's reported line.

How to choose: decide whether you want a box at all
A power station is a decision against wiring. Everything in this table is a battery, an inverter, a charger and a solar controller in one case, working the day it arrives, carried out of the van when you sell it. That convenience costs about twice the price per kWh of a bare LiFePO4 battery (compare the battery guide: €150–320 per kWh there, €370–550 here for the 1–2 kWh units), 20–40 % more weight per Wh, and the box’s own ceiling on solar input and 12 V current. For a weekender, a first build, a rented van or anyone who does not want to crimp a 70 mm² lug, it is the right trade. For a full-time van with a fridge, a heater and cooking on electricity, the inverter plus battery route is cheaper and grows.
Then size the Wh. The battery and solar sizing post turns the day’s loads into a number; in this table that is 245–286 Wh for phones and a laptop, 1 kWh for a couple’s fridge, lights and laptops for a day and a half, 1.5–2 kWh for two days or a kettle. Expandability (DELTA 3 Plus, DJI, VTOMAN) is the hedge if you are unsure.
Then match the roof. Solar input runs from 110 to 1,000 W here, inside an 11–60 V window on most units. Two 100 W panels in series from the solar guide are 40–50 V and fine; a pair of 30 V-class panels in series is not. A 1 kWh box with a 400 W limit (Jackery, VTOMAN) wastes the rest of a 600 W roof.
And the 12 V side. A compressor fridge wants a 12 V feed, not an inverter running all night: the car socket on every unit here is 10 A, and the Bluetti Elite 100 V2 and VTOMAN add barrel outputs so the fridge and a fan do not share the plug. The DJI has no car socket at all.

Top of the table because it is the most box for the money: 2,073 Wh at ≈ €405 per kWh, 2,600 W continuous, 1,000 W of solar input and a 6,000-cycle claim. It weighs 24.2 kg, is not expandable, and Bluetti's own pages give three different 0–80 % times. For a couple who want a kettle and a hairdryer without a wired system, this is the one box.

Power station or a built-in 12 V system for a camper van?
A power station is a battery, inverter, charger and solar controller in one box you can carry out: no wiring, no fusing, no inspection, working the day it arrives. For that you pay roughly €400–550 per kWh against €150–320 per kWh for a bare LiFePO4 battery, carry 82–99 Wh per kilo against 120–150, and accept the box's own limits on solar input and 12 V output. For a weekender or a first build a 1 kWh station is the honest answer; for a full-time van with a fridge, a heater fan and an induction plate, the battery-and-inverter route wins on price, weight and expandability — the battery and inverter guides cover it.
How big a power station does a camper van need?
A 12 V compressor fridge takes 300–600 Wh a day, lights and phones 100 Wh, a laptop 150–300 Wh, a diesel heater's fan 100–200 Wh on a cold night. A 245–286 Wh RIVER covers a day of phones and a laptop; a 1 kWh unit covers a couple's fridge, lights and laptops for a day and a half without sun; 1.5–2 kWh covers two days or a kettle and a hairdryer. Can a power station run an induction hob or a kettle?
Yes, within its AC rating: 1,800–2,600 W continuous on the 1–2 kWh units here runs a 1,800 W plate or a 2,000 W kettle. A 1 kWh unit gives 20–25 minutes of full-power induction; the Elite 200 V2 about 50 minutes. The 245–286 Wh RIVER units (300–600 W) do not — the hob guide has the arithmetic for cooking on a battery.
How much solar can you plug into a power station?
From 110 W (RIVER 3) to 1,000 W (DELTA 3 Plus, both Bluetti Elites), within each unit's voltage window — usually 11–60 V, which is two or three roof panels in series. The DJI Power 1000 V2 has no built-in solar input at all; it needs DJI's adapter module. Match the panels to the window: a 30 V-class panel pair in series is 72 V open-circuit in the cold and out of range for every unit here.
Where does a power station go in a van layout?
Low, strapped, ventilated and reachable: the 1 kWh units are 320–448 mm long, 200–250 mm wide and 230–284 mm tall, 10.8–14.2 kg; the 2 kWh Bluetti is 24 kg. Under the bed against the bulkhead with a cable to a 12 V panel is the common answer. LFP or NMC cells in a power station?
LFP (lithium iron phosphate) — every unit here except the Goal Zero Yeti 1500X. LFP claims 3,000–6,000 cycles to 80 % and tolerates heat; the Yeti's NMC pack is rated 500 cycles. Goal Zero's 2026 Yeti 1500 is LFP, but EU availability had not shown when checked.
